Scouting Trip: Day 5-9 catch up
Hello again, what a whirlwind the last couple of days have been... I’ve had a hard time knowing how to write this post, we have been sifting through a lot of doubts and fears, being reminded that deep faith does not come easily. Arriving to Spokane Friday, the overall feeling was defeat that night as we went to bed. I had been struggling with a cold, we felt overwhelmed by the housing market, the expense of the area, and the difficulty of finding a job that will fit in our schedule. We were overwhelmed by the details and how they would come together. Truly feeling like on paper it is impossible and will have to take a miracle. Thankfully we serve a God who makes the impossible, possible. We woke up Saturday morning running to God, feeling empty and needing Him more than ever. As we regrouped, we decided to check out a few more locations. Still coming up empty-handed, we decided to drive south to Boise Idaho, feeling like we could spend days in Spokane but it wouldn’t really change anything other than us getting more overwhelmed. Gideon has friends living in Boise area, he met them while living in Ecuador. We have been visiting with them since Sunday evening, being here has been so refreshing and exactly what we needed. They have been missionaries for years and have been encouraging us and giving us advice. We still don’t have answers but we are shifting our focus on God & not the details. If you would like to pray for us, we are asking for God to provide housing and work, and that we are able to set aside our expectations to what that may look like.
I haven’t gotten very many pictures the last couple of days, not much to take photos of, and we have been enjoying our time visiting with friends. But here is a landscape phot of Spokane area, about 30 minutes outside of the city.
This is the family we have been visiting with. Ignacio, Meylin, and their daughter Micha.
